Profile

The practice has the experience and resources to work on the design and implementation of landscape proposals for a wide spectrum of projects. This expertise ranges from the small domestic garden to large areas of land around a number of important European archaeological sites in Italy and Albania.

Using a simple palette of materials and planting, the practice creates new and revitalised landscapes that respond not only to the needs and wishes of the client but also draw on the existing strengths of the site and support the practical aspects of its long-term establishment and management.

People

Jamie Buchanan DipLA, CMLI

Jamie Buchanan founded the Cambridge based practice in 1987. His core skills are landscape planning, design and implementation. Jamie has a particular experience in master planning and developing innovative design concepts for difficult and demanding sites within and beyond the city. Recent work includes landscape enhancement ideas for the Chisholm Trail, a cycle roiute between Cambridge and Cambridge North stations. A keen cyclist, Jamie recently completed a thousand mile trip from Cambridge to Copenhagen, returning inspired to improve the cycle infrastructure in the UK.

Quoc Dang BA (Hons) MA Design

Quoc completed his undergraduate studies in Landscape Architecture at Manchester Metropolitan University (2010) and his Master's Degree in Critical Practice at Goldsmiths University of London (2012). He enjoys the cultural and creative pursuits of design, visualisation and technology. As well as travelling, he is a keen rock climber and woodworker with an admiration for craftsmanship.

The approach to design is based on insight, instinct and commitment. It is guided by one overarching philosophy: to make relevant, functional and beautifully simple work.

The design process is highly collaborative. A well-developed network of talented people enables the company to handle large-scale projects that cover several creative disciplines.
